UNFORGETTABLE

Hole #3 is a par 5 not long in length at 471 yards. This well bunkered and tricky dogleg has a green side bunker shaped like a crab! Make sure when you go by you look at it, but don't get in it. There's also out of bounds right and left.

TESTER

Hole #9 is tough right off the tee with its narrow shoot. Once you get in play keep it away from the trees that line both sides of the fairway. Don't let the slight dogleg pull your ball to the right, there lies a water hazard just lurking to add strokes.

DIRECTIONS

From Seattle take the Kingston Ferry in Edmonds, follow Hwy 104 west to Hwy 101 north to Sequim. In Sequim turn right at the second set of lights (Sequim-Dungeness Road). Proceed approximately 3 miles to Woodcock. Turn left and proceed 3 miles until you see the golf course on the right.

Dungeness golf course is the driest you'll find anywhere on the Olympic Peninsula. It sits in a pocket that seems to watch the wet weather go right by. With only 14 to 17 inches of rain annually, this moderate in length golf course is a pleasure to walk even in the winter time. This is easily Western Washington's most playable winter golf course. Dungeness is open year round.

What is one reason people don't fix ball marks? - PAT MCAULLY

Playing catch up can make people forget to take care of the course. When they get a hole or so behind they tend to forget to repair their ball marks. They get caught up in keeping up and figure that one ball mark won't hurt anything. In two days however that mark turns into a dead scar. Repairing a ball mark only takes seconds but makes the greens look good forever!
